A look back on my guiding highlights

Since I started out as full time tourist guide in 2016 I have had many extraordinary experiences ranging from flying in a helicopter over Mull and Skye to getting up close and personal with puffins on the island of Staffin.

I have met so many lovely people from a variety of backgrounds ranging from a retired US senator to writer for the Simpsons. One of the most moving moments was when I showed a Canadian gentleman the grave of his great grandfather for the first time.

I love doing clan tours and last year included tours for members of the Armstrong clan and the MacNaughton clan – all lovely people. It was a real privilege showing them the land of their ancestors including their ancestral castles.

Another tour took me to Orkney with a family group and together we explored ancient burial grounds on the island of Birsay which was absolutely fascinating.

One of the most exciting trips was taking a couple of Harry Potter fans to see some of the places where the films were made in Scotland which involved hiking by stunning waterfalls in Glen Nevis. There is never a dull moment and thank you to all those people who booked me.
